I first attended the Greater Cincinnati Area’s premiere anime convention, Sugoicon, way back in 2001, then returned in 2002 with a table at Artists Alley showing off my Rebus and Angel Moxie work. In the meantime, I made friends with the organizers (it helped that some of them were fans) and eventually was invited as a Special Guest, and have been invited back every year ever since.
When Beau told me title of his next album, I ran with it in designing the artwork. In “unbalanced,” I saw torn edges, no straight lines, and a title treatment reminiscent of the types of letters blackmailers and kidnappers send.
Through Beau Alquizola, I was introduced to Rhonda Everitt, the musical mind behind Pale Beneath the Blue. As she was putting together a Christmas album, she asked if I could provide her with the CD design, as she was looking for something fun and cartoony.
Beau quit his job to be a full-time musician, and this was his first creation. This is a showcase of his writing and vocal talents, along with the musical backings of some of Cincinnati’s (and beyond) best musicians.
I’m a big fan of Disney, let’s be honest. More so are my friends Cathy and Eric King, especially of the Disney Parks, which they visit once or twice a year. Well, since they’re addicted to the mouse, we thought of a way Disney fans could get their Walt Disney World fix… Mouse Guest.
